Just a piece of history
OCTOBER 1974
Metaalwerken Bergen op Zoom B.V. founded by Harry van Opdorp at Ringersweg 15 in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands for the purpose of supplying industrial sheet metal for machinery and equipment. In years to come the company premises are extended to the left, right and upwards. When they are becoming more and more constricted they gradually come to be regarded as too small for optimum future growth.
1 JANUARY 1997
This is followed by a move to our current location at Bongaertsweg 8 in Bergen op Zoom. In 1998 the production environment is extended further, so that in-house powder coating is possible from then on. From April 1999 onwards the first products are rolling from the powder coating line. Not long afterwards a special assembly hall is occupied at Witteveenweg 21 in Bergen op Zoom.
1 MAY 1999
BOZ Group B.V. is founded; owner of the machinery on the premises. All activities are conducted by operating company Metaalwerken Bergen op Zoom B.V. There are added extensions of the production environment in 2006 and also in 2019, from which date the organisation has been disposing of over 12,000 square metres in production space.
END 2008 – PRESENT
By the end of 2008 Corné van Opdorp takes charge of BOZ Group. The company still specialises in manufacturing industrial sheet metal for machinery and equipment used in industries like agriculture, food and high-tech. Steel, stainless steel and aluminium sheets are cut, bent, welded, (powder) coated and assembled 24/7 with utmost precision – whether or not automated – in large production halls on the industrial estate in Bergen op Zoom.
Founder Harry’s life’s work continues to develop and expand.
